Capita Symonds, UK

While Senior Landscape Architect at Capita Symonds, Kirsten Brown delivered detailed construction drawings and documentation for the second stage of this urban renewal project on the River Thames.

Formerly an industrial site, the area was reimagined as a mixed-use residential and commercial precinct. A key part of the masterplan involved creating a new river walk, reconnecting the community with the water’s edge. The landscape strategy focused on reclaiming land for public use while restoring the natural ecology of the site. The planting design introduced resilient species suited to the riverside conditions. Close coordination with infrastructure and structural engineers ensured that stormwater management systems supported long-term landscape performance.
